After re injecting my savefiles they also have access to the correct HUD now. Well, the game does have a flag that determines whether the widescreen hud should be used or not, but I don't know when or where it's set. Maybe widescreen fix affects it in a way that it gets stored in a save or something like that, but I didn't know that.
